!!The Rules
By Vicki J Morgan on Monday, April 22, 2013 at 3:42 PM
All MEMBERS: PLEASE READ THESE RULES FIRST BEFORE POSTING
*********************************************************************************************
THE RULES:
1) While we do have many knowledgeable members who can share their symptoms, symptoms vary widely from person to person. Do not post your symptoms and ask, “What do you think it might be?” or “Should I go to the ER or doctor?” We are not a substitute for even a cursory diagnosis, and no one is qualified to give you a diagnosis except a physician. Posts that suggest someone make a diagnosis will be removed without notice.
2) Don't suggest that a person specifically ask for a medication, and don't suggest any mobility aids or bracing. Please do not suggest that a person ask for or obtain a cane, walker, crutches, wheelchair, etc. As much as each of us knows about our own case, that's how little we know about another person. Mobility aids are between a doctor and a patient. There may be reasons mobility aids and medications are not recommended. Remember, not everyone has scruples and may use the info they get here to exaggerate their pain or condition.
3) If you post a diagnostic image or any reports in the group, please remove identifying information, including DOB, SSN, medical chart number, insurance information, medical facility name, and/or doctor's name. If these items are visible, the entire post will be deleted. This is for your protection.
4) Do not put graphic pictures in your original post. Put them in the first comment after your post. Also, put some type of warning, such as **NOTE: GRAPHIC PICTURE IN COMMENT."
5) Please use the search box on the left of the main page to search for existing topics and discussions or the tags listed in the right panel under “Popular Topics in Posts.” Duplicates may be removed without warning. There is a wealth of information in the files. Look through the files first to get a good foundation when learning about spinal stenosis. They are located here: www.facebook.com/groups/StenosisSupportGroup/files/
6) Do not block admins. If you do block admins you will have 24 hours to unblock before you are removed from the group. Do not include the admins in any of your personal messages (such as holiday greetings, internet warnings, chain letter-type messages, etc.). You will be removed and blocked from the group without warning.
7) NO SALES OF ANY KIND ARE PERMITTED. If you are in a network marketing (i.e., MLM) company, you may not disclose the nature of your products or solicit business. If you do, you will be removed from the group AND BLOCKED without warning. Promotion of network marketing products – whether for you or someone else – is not allowed. The same rule applies to affiliate marketing and self-employment opportunities. No PMs or "PM me for info."
8) No fund-raising links allowed (GoFundMe, YouCaring, etc.). This includes affiliate links for product recommendations, in which you or a friend could benefit financially.
9) No political or “sign this petition” type of posts. Period.
10) While many of us are members of other very informative support groups on Facebook, the administrators take our commitment to this group very seriously. Please do not add links to any other Facebook support groups within this group. If you find a group on Facebook that you feel may be beneficial to our members please send one of the administrators a message, we will evaluate the group and then decide to put a link at the top in recommended status.
11) Do not use the large "frames" and/or colored backgrounds that are done by default by Facebook. We limit the use of those to admin announcements.
Above all, play nice. We are a support group. While you may not agree with others, do not be derogatory in your comments. Name calling or direct cursing may also be cause for removal of one or all parties. We can all agree to disagree but in a polite way.
After you have read these rules, please "like" them.
If anyone violates the rules, their post will be deleted. If you continue to break the rules – We don't want to remove members but will have no choice if the behavior isn't corrected. We have discretion when it comes to removing members from the group who we feel aren't a good fit. We stress positivity & loving support & acceptance for all, despite our differences. We do not tolerate major drama that interferes with our objective of receiving & getting support.
If you see an inappropriate post, please click the drop-down arrow to the right of the post & report it to the admins. We will act upon it as soon as possible.
Please be aware that no post or member is removed without careful consideration regarding content and history.
The Administrators of this group are Vicki Morgan, CJ Pogar, and Spinal Stenosis Admins, (you can find us in the member's section under administrators). Please feel free to message the admins privately with any questions or concerns. We'll do the best we can to help.
Thank you for reading through the rules, and welcome to the group!
